OUR COCHRANE STORE MOVES TO A NEW AND LARGER LOCATION
The Cochrane store has moved to 252 River Avenue. This new location is very spacious, thus allowing us more room to better serve our customers. This means we will have more supplies in-stock, and our beer aficionados will be thrilled to hear all our new recipes, and beer add-on packages, will be available at this new location! This also means more room for wine and beer
making classes, so now is a good time to sign up!
Fur balls in my beer, tired oxygenated wine and corks popping. Why? Again, bad advice with outdated information. Are you still using a 20 year old computer? The Home Vintner prides itself on researching the most up to date information on wine and beer making techniques.
If our staff ask you a lot of questions about what you are making, it's because they want you to get the most from your wine and beer kit. Spend some time on our web site or better yet attend one of our classes; over 9,000 people have.
Our staff have taken winemaker of the year, beer maker of the year and 16 of them are certified in the winemaking excellence program. So ask questions, we are always prepared to offer you the right advice.

ON LINE FOR BEER & ALL SUPPLIES
Good news for our out of town customers - we are working day and night preparing our website for on line shopping. Initially we will be offering:
Wine kits will not be available on line at this time.
THE HOME VINTNER WINE FILTERING SYSTEM
Adding "polish" to a wine's appearance is the number one reason home winemakers elect to filter their wines. It adds a glassy and pure look to the wine that is simply appealing. Filtration will not make a cloudy wine become clear. That is not its purpose.
Our filter rentals are to be used only for Winexpert kits. Some wine kits on the market contain dyes and glycerin which will often clog the filter and you will be unsuccessful in completing the process. Winexpert wine kits contain no added chemicals, just pure varietals.

WINE ON SALE IN JANUARY - $5 OFF
Vintner's Reserve - continues to set the standard in it's category by yielding wines of excellent quality, flavour and aroma.
Vintner's Reserve World Vineyard - featuring popular grape varietals, with grape juices and concentrates from some of the finest growing regions in the world, this 10 litre kit produces high quality wines that you can enjoy within one month after bottling.
Vintner's Reserve Vieux Chateau du Roi (a.k.a. Chateauneuf-du-Pape style)
The aroma of this red features a complex mélange of ripe cherries, blackberries and bell peppers. Another of the
"Grande" wines for the red wine lover. This fruit-forward blend is medium-bodied, soft and quick to mature, this is the perennially popular French red wine blend that continues to keep them coming back with its smooth, easy charms. A Winexpert specialty blending a host of grape
varieties, each contributing to the layers of aroma and flavours that make this so special. Complex and full of
character, yet supple and easy drinking.
Vieux Chateau du Roi is deep red and aggressive with complex flavours resulting from a blend of grape varieties
which layer flavours and aromas of ripe fruit, berries, plum, spice, and oak.
Sweetness: Dry | Body: LIGHT | Oak Intensity: Medium

Vintner's Reserve Piesporter Silver Award Winner
Named after the village in Germany's Mosel wine region world-renowned for its high quality wines, Piesporter is characterized by a vivid fruitiness and lively balancing acidity.
Our Piesporter is made from Riesling grapes, the kit includes both dried elderflowers and the Winexpert Finishing Pack which will round the sweetness and intensify the flavors. The elderflowers contribute to the floral aromas.
Sweetness Off-Dry | Body: Medium | Oak Intensity: None
World Vineyard Spanish Tempranillo Bronze Award Winner
Gorgeous ruby red in colour, this medium-bodied wine is Spain's answer to Cabernet Sauvignon, with berry, plum and herbal notes running to a lush finish of tobacco, leather and vanilla. Spanish Tempranillo shows the black cherry, raspberry, plum and tobacco notes of the varietal, but the wine tends towards lushness and an overflowing of soft, ripe tannins, rather than bright fruit. Vanilla and spice notes in the oak give way to a beguiling hint of dark coffee on the finish.
Sweetness: Dry | Body: Medium | Oak Intensity: Medium
World Vineyard French Sauvignon Blanc
Steely, grassy, herbaceous the classic traits of palate-cleansing Sauvignon Blanc are here in this version sourced directly from the French countryside. Crisp and dry, this
refreshing wine is a fabulous match with food, as its full, fresh flavours and wonderfully balanced acidity make it essential with chicken, fish and grilled vegetables.
Light in colour - slightly more hop flavour than typical domestic lagers with a smooth finish. This Pilsner is for those who want more flavour than found in a Canadian style beer. The flavour is balanced between sweet and bitter with a hint of buttery flavor. Comparable to a Czechoslovakian Pilsner. Try using 2278 Czech Pils liquid yeast - a classic pilsner strain from the home of pilsners for a dry but malty finish.
