NEW TARTAN BEER

Our HV Tartan Ale recipe starts with a Barons Amber Ale - 500 grams of smoked malt and dry malt rather than dextrose.  Try Wyeast 1728 Scottish Ale yeast.

We were pleasantly surprised with this Scottish style ale with warm amber hues and complex aromas, giving it a full-bodied taste with a slightly smoky finish.  Click here to read our blog on Alexander Keith's Limited Release Tartan Ale.

REFERRAL PROGRAM

We truly appreciate you referring us to your family and friends.  When the new vintner or brewer makes their first kit purchase, you both will receive 10% off the regular price of any kit.  Referral certificates are available in our stores.  Cannot be combined with any other offers.

IT'S FINALLY SPRING!

Time to dust off the wings and get outside.  Today was a great day for flying, but there's still a lot of snow lingering on the ground.  With spring finally arriving, it's also panic time thinking ahead to your summer wine and beer supply!

Will you be ahead of the game this season and get prepared for the summer, when your consumption rates go way up?  Nobody seems to be sober around a campfire.. We always have a lot of people come in mid-August bewildered as to where all their wine and beer went.

Now's the time to be pro-active and think ahead!  (Don't forget about those new Twisted Mist kits!)

A HUGE FOLLOWING ON OUR 2 SMALL LOTS AVAILABLE ONCE A YEAR

Our Small Lots 3 Continents Red (173.95) and White ($162.95) sneak in and out without a sound.  Those who discover this unique offering wait for the event every year.  Small Lots due to the scarce availability of this product - once they're gone, they're gone! New this year is the 3 Continents white. Well, last night I opened one of these precious bottles. To my great delight, aromas of rich fruits, black cherry, & chocolate filled the room. This wine is under a year - I cannot imagine what it is going to be like past a year and even at 2 years of age!

NEW - BELGIAN WIT BEER USING LIQUID YEAST

We have good news for those who enjoy a white beer in the summer.  Now with the introduction of Wyeast liquid yeast in our stores we are able to make this beer.  1/2 of the flavour will come from the yeast.  Use either an American Lite or Mexican Cerveza along with Wyeast Belgian Witbier yeast and our wheat, coriander and orange peel pack.  Recipes and additive packs are now available.

Vintner's Reserve Merlot $81.95 Bronze Award Winner

Wonderful plum, spice, currant and wild berry flavors.  The soft tannins of this Bordeaux varietal carry these aromas and flavors to a long lingering finish.

It is opaque and very dark ruby colored.  It opens with a fragrant ripe black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, and fruit forward.  The flavor profile is a very pleasant blend of black cherry and mild black raspberry.  There is a hint of oak and a touch of black pepper to add to its character.  The finish is dry and its moderate tannins linger quite nicely. This wine is quite versatile and would pair well with many foods.

World Vineyard California Pinot Noir $84.95

World Vineyard California Pinot Noir creates a lasting impression on the palate with an intense ripe-grape and black cherry aroma, accented by a spicy suggestion of cinnamon and mint.  Medium-full bodied and rich but not heavy, it's perfectly balanced with alcohol acid and tannin working harmoniously, and has substantial flavour despite its delicacy.  It has an appealing soft, velvety texture, like liquid silk gently caressing the palate.
