Pairing Wine and Romance!

Posted by Jessica - Chile, June 24th, 2016 | 0 Comments

Finding the right wine to go with a great meal is an integral part of enhancing the romance of any meal!

If you want that special occasion to be as perfect as possible, then choosing the right wine to go with your meal can lift your occasion to the next level. A perfect pairing can really bring that “wow-factor” to the table -  when wine and food complement each other so well that the flavours of both ‘pop’.

At the Home Vintner we have all your bases covered! This month’s Cellar Building sales feature a selection of white and red wines that are all different in their profile.

Stock a variety of white wines to cover all your bases. Light and aromatic, off dry and flavourful and/or rich, full bodied and oaky. (California Symphony, Australian Traminer-Riesling, Luna Bianca).

For the reds we offer a similar variety of styles. From medium-bodied and lightly oaked to warm the palate, to bold, off dry, unoaked and unique, to full bodied with rich oak intensity. (Australian Grenache Syrah Mourvédre, California Enigma, Luna Rossa).

By having variety on hand in your cellar at all times, you can easily pick a wine that romances your meal. The more variety you have the easier it will be to pair with your meals. When options are available, grab a glass to suit your mood or your occasion.

Great restaurants romance you with multiple course meals and perfectly paired wines. You can absolutely do this yourself! Start light and white, and move along to bolder red.  Pairing wines with specific dishes is a very romantic way to have a successful evening. Can’t finish the bottles? No problem, wine will last a day or two when you pump the air out using a vac-u-vin pump and airtight stopper.
