Judging @ Chestermere Country Fair

Posted by Airdrie Store - Pat Morrison - full access, September 8th, 2012 | 0 Comments

Paul, Ken and Pat judged the wine and beer categories at the Chestermere Country Fair last night.    Not all categories had entries, but there were 30 bottles in all that required judging.

We must say, all the beer was really good to excellent, and some had only 1 point in between a placing!

The wines scored from Excellent to Fair, the Best of Show being Wx Limited Edition German Traminer Spatlese!  What a gorgeous wine - the nose just wafted out of the glass.  All 3 of us agreed that this was Best of Show, hands down.

It took the 3 of us longer to judge than we thought it  would, due to the fact so many were close in points, we had to keep going back and forth between them.

A fun night, and it is nice to see that more and more vintners and brewers are entering the "fruit of their labours" into competition!
